Borland InterBase Server is a lightweight relational database engine that runs as a system service to provide client/server SQL data storage. The “gds_db” instance refers to the default network service alias that listens on TCP port 3050 for remote connections. Applications connect to this service to access InterBase databases locally or over the network. It is often bundled with legacy Borland development tools and with commercial applications that rely on InterBase for data persistence.
Borland InterBase Server [instance = gds_db] is developed by Borland Software Corporation. The most popular version of this product among our users is 7.5. The names of program executable files are fb_inet_server.exe, IBMgr.exe, ibmgr32.exe, IBReplSrvcInstall.exe and interserver.exe.
